A big thank you to everyone who played a part in the Refugee Welcome Day at Henderson
Hall on Sunday, July 21 st . It was a huge success due to a fantastic team effort and so many
people from the community getting involved. And the rain stayed away! Alongside the
Ukrainians living locally, over 50 people came from Swansea representing nearly a dozen
different countries – Sudan, Somalia, Eritrea, Tunisia, Syria, Albania, Pakistan, Iran, Sri
Lanka, Saudi Arabia and Afghanistan.
The happy smiling faces and the grateful thanks as they got onto the bus to return said it all.
The many messages sent afterwards mentioned the delicious food, the fun and games, the
beautiful countryside and above all the warm welcome. For everyone involved it was an
