Set up of tables and chairs: The hall is run by local volunteers and conformation of a booking does not include any set up or break down of tables and chairs for events. Should you require assistance, please discuss your requirements and it may be possible for a costing to be done for you.
Health and Safety including safeguarding
By hiring the hall you agree to abide to the Hall’s Safeguarding Policy
Hall capacity: A maximum of 170 persons are allowed in the Hall. A maximum of 120 people can be comfortably accommodated for formal sit down meals.
Children’s (person’s aged less than 18 years) supervision: It is the hirer’s responsibility to ensure that sufficient and suitable supervision is provided for all children.
Cooking: Additional cooking appliances to those in place must not be used.
Dogs: Dogs are not permitted in the Hall or grounds, except for guide dogs.
Electrical appliances: The hirer accepts liability for any damage caused by electrical equipment brought into the Hall.
Emergency exits: Event organisers must ensure that emergency exit doors are kept clear at all times.
Fireworks: Fireworks are not permitted in the Hall or Hall grounds.
Smoking: Smoking is not permitted on the premises.
Noise and disruption: The Booking Secretary will advise you if your event requires you to notify Dyfed Powys Police. Should there be any unruly behaviour or disturbance the Hall will immediately be closed.
Cleaning, damages and waste management
Hall hirers must leave the hall in a tidy state including; floors swept, rubbish removed, surfaces cleaned and all furniture put away. Cleaning charges only cover the cleaning of the toilets, mopping and polishing of all the floors.
Damages: Any damage incurred to building, furniture, apparatus or other property of the Henderson Hall Management Committee must be made good by the persons to whom the premises are let. A £100 returnable breakages bond is charged for all large and corporate bookings
Waste management: It is the hall hirer’s responsbility to abide by the Hall’s waste management policy and take away any waste and recycling. We do not have a commercial waste collection but, if you require one for your event, we can advise you on options.
Parking and playing fields
If your event requires the use of the Hall carpark you should let the Booking Secretary know and depending on numbers, the hall car park can be closed for your use at a charge of £5 per car. Car parking for large events can be arranged locally and hall hirers will be charged £5 per car payable in advance. Car parking for large events must be arranged with the Bookings Secretary. No parking is permitted in Penpentre, on the green in front of the adjacent bungalows, or at the rear of the bungalows.
The playing fields and multi-use games area (MUGA) surrounding the Hall are owned and managed by Talybont on Usk Community Council. If you wish to use them for any purpose, please let the Booking Secretary know and you will be given the contact details of the clerk to the Community Council.
Alcohol: If alcohol is to be sold on the premises a Temporary Event Notice (TEN) will be required under the Licensing Act 2003. The Hall Hirer is responsible for securing the TEN in line with the requirements of Powys County Council’s Licences and Permits department
